Trading Business Risk Manager (80-100%)

About the role

LGT, the largest private banking and asset management group owned by an entrepreneurial family and the family office of the Princely House of Liechtenstein, is looking for a Business Risk Manager to strengthen risk management and governance across Trading & Treasury. Working in the Trading Business Risk Management team, you will help identify and manage operational, compliance and legal risks, enhance the Best Execution Monitoring framework and support operational resilience and trading governance. You will work closely with all trading desks, Legal, Compliance, Operational Risk and other stakeholders across LGT's international locations, depending on your experience either developing your expertise with the team or taking ownership of topics and initiatives from the start.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse trading processes to identify operational, compliance and legal risks, address control gaps and drive process and system improvements.
• Enhance the Best Execution Monitoring framework and tools, turning execution-quality analysis into actionable insights for senior management.
• Investigate Operational Risk Events in Trading and develop measures to address weaknesses in the internal control system.
• Maintain, test and improve Business Continuity Management capabilities to strengthen operational resilience.
• Manage third-party risks for selected trading applications, including user access administration and service provider oversight.
• Maintain trading governance directives covering responsibilities, conflicts of interest and segregation of duties.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives with Trading, Legal, Compliance, Operational Risk and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of financial markets and financial products.
• Relevant experience in Trading, Operations, Risk Management, Compliance, Audit or a related banking function.
• Fluent German and English.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex matters to different audiences, including senior management.

Required skills

• Good understanding of trading-related regulation, operational risk and internal control frameworks.
• Ability to analyse complex processes, identify risks and control gaps and propose pragmatic solutions.
• Strong digital and IT affinity, able to turn business needs into process and system requirements.
