Senior Credit Risk Controller (80-100%)

About the role

LGT, the world’s largest family‑owned private banking and asset management group, is seeking a Senior Credit Risk Controller to independently assess high‑risk credit exposures. The role supports the second line of defence by providing transparent risk assessments for loan applications.

Key responsibilities

• Independently review and document risk assessments of selected loan applications based on predefined risk criteria.
• Prepare standardized risk assessment reports as part of the loan application process.
• Critically evaluate loan documentation, request additional information, and maintain professional dialogue with the credit department and specialist units.
• Identify, document and report weaknesses or structural issues to management and credit decision‑making bodies.
• Deputise for senior risk management functions as required.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent in banking and finance, business administration, economics, law or a comparable field.
• Several years of experience in credit risk management, preferably in Lombard lending or a comparable control function.
• Strong knowledge of technical and regulatory requirements for lending and credit monitoring.
• Ability to assess and document complex issues in a structured, audience‑appropriate manner.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Independent, meticulous work approach with high reliability and sense of responsibility.
• Fluent written and spoken German and English.
