Senior Credit Risk Controller (80-100% FTE)

About the role

LGT is seeking a Senior Credit Risk Controller to independently assess high‑risk credit exposures. The role provides a second‑line of defence by delivering transparent, standardised risk assessments that support credit decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent reviews and written assessments of selected loan applications based on predefined risk criteria.
• Prepare standardised risk assessment reports that become part of the loan documentation.
• Critically evaluate loan files, request additional information, and clarify ambiguities with business units.
• Collaborate closely with the credit department and other specialist units.
• Identify, document, and report structural weaknesses or issues to management and credit committees.
• Act as deputy for the credit risk function when required.

Required profile

• University degree in banking, finance, economics, law or a related field.
• Several years of experience in credit risk management, preferably in Lombard lending or a comparable control function.
• Strong knowledge of technical and regulatory requirements for lending and credit monitoring.
• Excellent analytical ability to assess and document complex issues in a clear, structured manner.
• Proven communication skills to present independent positions to stakeholders at all organisational levels.
• Fluent written and spoken German and English.
