About the role
Join Hilti’s HSE team to embed environmental and chemical management across the global headquarters. You will translate complex regulatory and technical requirements into practical concepts, drive measurable improvements and secure stakeholder support for new solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the introduction and assessment of new chemicals through the approval process, ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulations.
- Own and continuously improve hazardous‑substance data and processes in the GeSi³ chemical management system, including safety instructions, labels and documentation.
- Develop robust environmental and chemical‑safety concepts (storage, wastewater, fire‑water retention, emergency response) and drive implementation with internal and external partners.
- Assess environmental, chemical and exposure risks, define proportionate controls and translate findings into standards, priorities and improvement roadmaps.
- Communicate the value of improvements, influence stakeholders at all levels and deliver effective training and awareness programs.
- Ensure compliant disposal of wastewater and chemicals, monitor key environmental indicators and provide accurate reporting to the Office of Environment.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering or a comparable technical discipline.
- Strong professional experience in chemical and hazardous‑substance management, with the ability to interpret regulatory requirements and turn them into workable concepts.
- Proven ability to develop environmental management strategically while remaining hands‑on and delivering measurable results.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, capable of explaining complex topics clearly and building support for improvements.
- Fluent in German and English.
