Bank Vault & Precious Metals Specialist (80-100%)

About the role

As a Bank Vault & Precious Metals Specialist you will ensure the secure and efficient delivery of LGT’s vault, safe‑deposit‑box and precious‑metals services. Your meticulous, discreet approach will protect client assets while upholding the highest security and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the bank vault and maintain accurate, traceable inventory records.
• Process purchases, sales, deposits, deliveries and hand‑overs of physical precious metals.
• Verify incoming precious metals against LGT standards and coordinate deliveries with LGT offices.
• Oversee safe‑deposit‑box services, including openings, amendments, access arrangements and terminations.
• Validate client identities and access authorisations, documenting all activities precisely.
• Apply security, dual‑control and monitoring procedures, escalating irregularities as required.
• Support the cash desk with professional cash‑transaction processing when needed.
• Provide discreet client advice and collaborate with Reception, Private Banking, Compliance, Trading and other internal teams on inventories, audits and valuables transports.

Required profile

• Completed banking or commercial apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in a banking environment, preferably in vault management, safe‑deposit‑box services, precious metals, cash services or valuables logistics.
• Familiarity with security, compliance, anti‑money‑laundering and internal‑control requirements, or ability to acquire this knowledge quickly.
• Highly structured, reliable work style with strong awareness of security, integrity and discretion.
• Excellent German language skills and good English proficiency; additional languages are a plus.
• Physical ability to safely lift, carry and move loads up to 30 kg.
