Senior Media Relations Manager – Global Corporate Communications

About the role

As a Senior Media Relations Manager you will shape Hilti’s global image by turning business priorities into compelling external narratives. Working within the Group Corporate Communications team, you will influence the brand’s reputation worldwide and support senior executives in high‑profile media engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, develop and pitch strong corporate stories to regional and international media.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with journalists, editors and opinion leaders.
• Advise and prepare senior executives for interviews, media briefings and high‑profile engagements.
• Monitor media coverage, sentiment and emerging issues; assess reputational risks and opportunities.
• Prepare press material, reactive statements, briefing documents, Q&As and organise media events.
• Manage media inquiries and coordinate responses with internal stakeholders.
• Proactively drive initiatives that enhance the company’s global visibility, credibility and thought leadership.

Required profile

• University degree with extensive experience in public relations, corporate communications or journalism.
• Proven track record in international media relations, reputation management and crisis communications.
• Established network of media contacts and ability to foster relationships with journalists and editors.
• Excellent writing, messaging and storytelling skills, capable of translating complex topics into clear external narratives.
• Strong judgement in fast‑moving situations, including issue assessment, escalation and crisis communication.
• Creative and strategic mindset combined with a hands‑on attitude and strong teamwork orientation.
• Fluent English and German, with at least one language at native‑speaker level.
