Chief Compliance Officer – Digital Assets

About the role

The Chief Compliance Officer will lead the compliance framework for a fast‑growing European digital‑assets and payments business. Reporting to senior management and with direct access to the Board, the role ensures that all activities meet the highest regulatory standards across Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Own and develop the compliance monitoring programme.
• Maintain policies covering AML, sanctions, market conduct and client protection.
• Act as the principal contact for regulators, auditors and external advisers.
• Oversee regulatory reporting, inspections and remediation programmes.
• Assess new products, markets and commercial partnerships for compliance risk.
• Lead transaction‑monitoring, KYC and enhanced due‑diligence standards.
• Provide independent challenge and advice to senior management.
• Develop a strong compliance culture throughout the organisation.

Required profile

• Significant compliance leadership experience in digital assets, fintech, banking, payments or regulated financial services.
• Deep knowledge of European crypto‑asset regulation and AML requirements.
• Experience working in Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Luxembourg or another European financial centre is valuable.
• Fluent in English; German language skills strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to engage confidently with regulators and senior international stakeholders.
