Risk Manager – Digital Assets

About the role

The Risk Manager will design and maintain a comprehensive risk‑management framework for a fast‑growing crypto‑asset business operating under European regulation. Working closely with compliance, operations, technology and senior leadership, the role provides independent oversight and practical risk guidance across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the enterprise‑wide risk framework and define risk appetite.
• Identify, assess and monitor operational, market, liquidity and counter‑party risks.
• Oversee technology, cyber, custody, outsourcing and business‑continuity risks.
• Develop risk indicators, controls, reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments for new products and commercial initiatives.
• Support regulatory reporting, audits and supervisory reviews.
• Coordinate incident management, scenario analysis and stress testing.
• Present clear risk information to senior management and the Board.

Required profile

• Proven risk‑management experience in digital assets, fintech, banking, asset management, payments or another regulated financial institution.
• Strong knowledge of European regulatory expectations, operational resilience and technology‑related risk.
• Direct exposure to crypto trading, custody, wallets, blockchain infrastructure or financial‑crime risk is a plus.
• Analytical, commercially aware and able to translate regulatory expectations into proportionate controls.
• Fluent written and spoken English; German is advantageous.
