Google Cloud Platform Architect (Remote)

About the role

BairesDev is seeking a senior Google Cloud Platform Architect to lead AI‑driven mainframe modernization projects. You will work remotely with a global team, converting legacy COBOL systems into modern Java, Go, or .NET applications on GCP.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and lead the re‑architecture of legacy and mainframe‑class systems into GCP‑based solutions.
• Design data architecture on GCP, including BigQuery and analytics pipelines.
• Communicate with client stakeholders to explain the business impact of modernization efforts.
• Collaborate with distributed engineering teams within a fully GCP environment.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, specifically with Google Cloud Platform.
• Proven track record in application modernization and re‑architecting legacy systems to Java, Go, or .NET.
• Strong background in data architecture on GCP, including BigQuery and pipeline design.
• Consulting or professional services experience with client‑facing delivery.
• Experience with AI engineering practices such as harness engineering or spec‑driven design.
• Advanced English proficiency.
